In a few weeks, I’m going to be giving an art class to a group of 5th and 6th graders that my friend teaches on the Central Coast. We are going to be doing a lesson about Van Gogh and the students will be painting their own versions of Van Gogh’s Two Sunflowers, 1887. In preparation, I painted an example. I’m a bit out of practice with acrylics and I only have three colors in my supply. The background is much darker than I like, but all in all, my first acrylic painting in years is not terrible and will at least be a good example for the class.
When I was done, I had a little more time before my son woke up from his nap, so I did a quick sketch of one of the flowers with a black brush pen and watercolor.
It’s perfect! I can’t WAIT!
I love your drawings.. and how you talk about them… and all that you are learning!! so excited for you.. I wish I was doing something I trully loved and enjoyed 😦
Big hugs!
