Finished this watercolor last night. I painted this American Kestrel from a photo in a book called Birds of North America.
Animals
Lizards
Pen & Ink, Sketches, WatercolorSketched a couple lizards today.
This fella is a green iguana.
This one is an armadillo lizard playfully chewing on his own tail.
Animal Sketches IV
Pen & Ink, SketchesFinal batch of animal drawings from my sketchbook. Until I make more.
Animal Sketches III
Pen & Ink, SketchesOwls are just plain cool. Big, spooky eyes. Tootsie Roll Pops. They eat rodents. They wink. They’re fun to draw, too.
Boo!
Animal Sketches II
Pen & Ink, SketchesMore animal sketches from my sketchbook. Drawn from a couple library books I checked out a while back.
I think this is not actually a hog…
I heart llamas.
Oh squirrel, how my dog wants to eat you.
Small sketches
Pen & Ink, Sketches, Urban Sketches, WatercolorI got a 4 x 6 inch sketch book the other day (because it was $1 and you can’t beat that) and today, I brought it out. I’ve noticed some other folks have participated in a challenge called Every Day Matters, created, I think, by Karen Winters. I came across the list of challenges (which you can see here) and thought my tiny sketchbook would be perfect for it! I made these three today.

My dog, asleep
I also brought out my colored pencils last night and drew this bird while watching Hell on Wheels. I like to draw whilst TV watching. Makes it feel less like wasted time!
Animal Drawings
Pen & InkThese are two of five cross-hatched animal drawings I’ve done.
This here is my all-time favorite animal, the Jackalope.
This is my Rhino-Pig.
Once I figure out how to fit an 11″ x 14″ sheet of paper into my 8″ x 10″ scanner, I’ll post my Giraffes and Horned Goat drawings.
Animal sketches
Pen & InkThis is the latest drawing made in my sketchbook. I’ve been doing several animal sketches based on photos from a library book called “Zoo, The Modern Ark.”
